‘I had given up on ‘Tuupate’-Pia Pounds

Finally, Pia Pounds will never be referred to as that artiste who only gets busy on IG. The girl now has a hit to her name – you haven’t listened to ‘Tupaate’? Where do you live?

Well, Pia Pounds is smiling through the 42-day lockdown as the song trends on social. But, of course because she is not used to this kind of viral, the singer said everything is a miracle because she had even given up on the song.

“The song is nine months old. I promoted it and gave up, then all of a sudden, the song is on everybody’s status and memes are making rounds of it to a point that now people have believed I’m such an amazing artiste. It’s a miracle,” she said.

Pia Pounds was last in the news after Eddy Kenzo distanced himself from her, saying she has never been signed to Big Talent despite pics of her signing a contract with him back in the day emerged.

Manchester United 5-1 Leeds United:

Bruno Fernandes hat-trick as Manchester United outclass Leeds in dominant performance Bruno Fernandes’s 30-minute hat-trick was the highlight of a stunning opening day performance that welcomed a capacity crowd back to Old Trafford in memorable fashion. The Portuguese playmaker handed United a first half lead and, after their visitors had equalised, then spearheaded a brutal and clinical response from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side which swept them to victory. Fernandes, who found the net 28 times in all competitions last season, struck the opener after half an hour of an absorbing season opener. Stuart Dallas was unmarked at a Leeds throw-in and found his team mate with a short pass which Ayling deposited past David de Gea from 25 yards. It was an early-season test of United’s character and one they passed with flying colours as Mason Greenwood restored their lead after 52 minutes. Again, Pogba was the creator with a superbly weighted curling pass which allowed the young striker to s...

Brentford beats Arsenal in Premier League opener, 74 years after their last game in England's first division

Brentford was relegated after the 1946/47 Football League season and had not tasted top-flight football since. Brentford has started its first top-flight campaign since 1947 by stunning Arsenal 2-0 in the opening game of the Premier League season. Sergi Canos put Brentford ahead in the 22nd minute and Christian Noergaard headed in the second in the 73rd after Arsenal failed to deal with a long throw-in, handing the promoted club a perfect start to life in the Premier League in front of nearly 16,500 fans at the Community Stadium. Those fans finally had a chance to celebrate inside the new stadium, which was opened last year during the lockdown when no supporters were allowed into games. But Brentford fans are used to waiting. The club's last game in England's top division was a 1-0 loss to Arsenal, in May 1947. Now the team is top of the league for at least a few hours, ahead of the rest of the weekend's games. "Nobody who was here will ever forget that. And I'm ...

Lionel Messi contract details: How much money is he making with new PSG contract?

It’s a done deal: free-agent superstar Lionel Messi will be joining French side Paris Saint-Germain in the most high-profile player move of the summer in Europe. Reports state that Messi's two-year contract with PSG gives him a $41 million annual net salary, including bonuses. The contract also contemplates an option for a third year. In addition, The Athletic tacks on  a near $30-million signing bonus , while  Forbes reports  that the player will also get a cut of player image rights, including jersey sales, which could potentially bump his annual salary up to the $75 million range. That’s a big contract for any player, let alone a forward who has already turned 34. PSG will feel that money will be well-spent if Messi can take the club to the promised land: a first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy. Messi won the Champions League trophy four times in a storied career with FC Barcelona, the last one coming back in 2015. Meanwhile, PSG has been knocking on the door ...
